Joe Fluge

Owner & Trainer

Joe is an experienced trainer with years of military, law enforcement, and AKC experience.

• Air National Guard Drug Demand Reduction Program, Regional Manager for ND, MN, WI, and SD
• Graduate of Bullocks K9 Training Academy
• Owner of Urban K9 Detection and Training
  
• Former Intelligence Analyst with the Cass County Drug Task Force for over 10 years
• Licensed Private Investigator in ND and MN
  
• President / Founder of K9 Crew

He offers training in obedience, explosive detection, and drug detection.

Kati 

Lead Trainer 

Kati joined the SRK team in December 2023 as our lead dog trainer. Katie has been training dogs for four years.  She has worked with dog aggression, resource guarding, basic obedience and so much more. 

Outside of work she enjoys hunting, hiking, disc, and dock diving with her three dogs: Arlo (Golden Retriever), Otto (German Shepard), Striker (field line Labrador Retriever), Envy (field line Labrador Retriever).

Taylor

Assistant Trainer

   Taylor joined the SRK team in May of 2024. She has two working line border collies, Mildred and Coyote. Her favorite thing about working at the kennel is to be able to connect and make a difference in the lives of other dogs and their owners! 

Outside of work Taylor enjoys hiking with her dogs and spending time with her husband and two children on their family farm!

Alexis 

Dog Handler

Alexis joined the SRK team in June of 2022. Her favorite part about working at the kennel is interacting with the different dog breeds and their unique personalities. She has a Labrador retriever mix named Ruby. 

Outside of work, Alexis is a student at NDSU in the Vet Tech program. In her free time she likes spending time with friends, hanging out and going for car rides with Ruby, shopping, and traveling when she's able to! 

Grace

Dog Handler

Grace joined the SRK team in September of 2021. Her favorite part about working at the kennel is meeting all the new dogs and owners, watching training dogs progress, and answering client questions! 

Outside of work Grace is a student at NDSU studying Crop and Weed Science, Animal Science, and Equine Science. In her free time, she competes with her two horses, JoJo & Nash, spends time with friends, and hunts with her two French Brittany's, Watson & Winnie! 

Leah

Dog Handler

Leah joined the SRK team in June of 2023. She is attending North Dakota State University, where she is studying architecture. Leah has one dog named Ruby (Lhasa Apso-Yorkie Mix). One of her favorite parts of working at SRK is getting to meet so many new dogs.

In her free time, Leah enjoys working out, shopping, hunting, baking, and spending time with friends and family.

Breanna

Breanna Joined the SRK team in May of 2024. She has a German Shepherd named Ryder. Her favorite thing about working at the kennel is being able to work with all different types and sizes of dogs!

Outside of work Breanna enjoys going camping, hiking and doing different dog sports with her dog like dock diving and disc!

Samantha

Dog Handler

Sami started at SRK in October of 2022. She is a student at Fargo North High School. She has 2 dogs, Mabel and Simba, and a cat, Ginger. Her favorite thing about working at the kennel is getting to see all the different breeds of dogs that come to Sheyenne River Kennels.

Outside of school and work Sami enjoys reading, shopping, listening to music and making jewelry. Sami also loves to go on road trips and going on hikes.

Nora

Dog Handler

Nora joined the team at Sheyenne River Kennels September of 2022. She is a student at Fargo North High School. The thing she enjoys most about working at the kennel is getting to see and meet all of the dogs!

In her free time you can find her managing football, running track, playing basketball or in the weight room. She also enjoys baking and hanging out with friends. One place Nora has always wanted to travel is Norway.

 Carrie

Carrie started at SRK in June of 2023. She is a student at Fargo North High School. She has 1 dog, Chopper, and 5 cats . The thing she enjoys most about working at the kennel is getting to play with all the dogs! 

Besides school and work, you can find her playing volleyball, basketball, or throwing the shot put, and discus. She also enjoys her time hanging out with her friends, staying active, reading, and being outdoors. 

Karah

Dog Handler

Karah jointed the SRK team in the summer of 2022. She currently attends Davies High School and plans to study psychology after graduation. At home, she has two cats (Nikita and Mojo), a dog (Benson), and a horse (Cheeto). Karah loves how laid-back everyone is at work and enjoys spending time with all the dogs.

In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, tanning, riding her horse, and driving around town listening to music.
